Yigal Arnon & Co. represented 36 Yeffet LLC, planners of a hotel and residential project in the French Hospital complex in Jaffa, against a petition to the High Court for an Order Nisi and an urgent interlocutory injunction, to prevent the execution of the project. The petitioners claimed that the municipal building plan did not provide an adequate solution for ancient graves discovered in the area of the project, and that their removal disrespected the dead and offended religious sensibilities of the Ultra-Orthodox community. The petitioners therefore asserted that the building plan and permits issued should be void. Yigal Arnon & Co. argued that the petitioners did not shown cause, that the petition was submitted after serious delay and without exhausting administrative procedures, and was tainted by a lack of integrity. The High Court sided with Yigal Arnon & Co., and on January 13, 2011, rejected the petition.
